At Dr. Direct Retainers, we believe everyone deserves a confident, beautiful smile – and the means to maintain it. That's why we created a simple, streamlined, and effective system designed to connect former SmileDirectClub doctors and patients together so patients can once again access critical dental care, including high-quality, affordable retainers and aligner treatment.

Dr. Direct Retainers was founded in 2024 by select members of SmileDirectClub’s executive leadership team. While Dr. Direct Retainers is a new and separate company and is not a successor or otherwise affiliated with SmileDirectClub, it owns the rights to the technology and platform formerly owned by SmileDirectClub, which allows our affiliated network of dental professionals to engage with former SDC patients to support their oral care needs using the same groundbreaking technology pioneered by SDC. As a result of this acquisition, dentists and orthodontists who were previously a part of SmileDirectClub’s affiliated network can now use Dr. Direct Retainers’ platform and manufacturing capabilities to treat former SmileDirectClub patients. Former SDC patients, whose information and records were previously on file with SDC’s affiliated network of dentists and orthodontists, can now also purchase aligners for touchups as needed and retainers using their previous treatment plan. In addition, former SDC patients in need of new treatment now have the ability to go through Dr. Direct Retainers to engage with its network of dentists and orthodontists, each of whom has extensive teledentistry experience, to see if they are a viable candidate for new treatment, and develop entirely new treatment plans if they are eligible so they can effectively and affordably achieve a smile that they love.
